Obviously they have to go to the big chemical companies and buy all the cheap synthetic ingredients that are so harmful to our skin and our environment. There are also few that use truly natural ingredients, but the real question is how much natural ingredients and in what percentage they are utilizing in the soap? Believe it or not, WE GROW OUR OWN OLIVES, we press it for its oils and we cook the soap using only pure mineral and Dead Sea salts that we import from the Dead Sea. The olive oil soap we are presenting you with has to cure for at least 3 weeks before we can even handle it. It can only cure indoors without direct heat or light. From there on, the aging process continues, just like wine, it simply keeps getting better.
We use no preservatives, because the salts naturally preserve it. And we use no color because we do not want to insult your intelligence by adding green to it to make it look like olive green. We also use no glycerin, because we do not want to cheat you out of quality or harm your skin. Glycerin is a tri-alcohol compound that simply melts away your skin?s NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor). Olive oil restores your skin?s elasticity and natural moisture by providing the necessary vitamin E that your skin needs which is naturally abundant in olive oil. On the other hand, one of the many characteristics of the Dead Sea salts is that it makes it easier for your skin to absorb the vitamins and the minerals.
Each bar we present you with contains 80% olive oil. However, it is only fair to mention, that we use one-year-old olive oil, the reason is cost. Olive trees alternate year after year in the amount of olives they can produce; one year there is abundance of it, the next year there is very little. It is nature?s way of preserving itself. The year of abundance is the year we preserve olive oil for soap production. So we store it from year to year for future use so we can present it to you at an affordable price.
